Last minute, I know... But I'm looking to get onto a year-round hunting lease, hopefully long-term. Primarily for deer, but would like the ability to hunt other game as well. I'm going to get specific about my "ideal lease" because I've been told that's the best way to find one. I promise I'm not picky, I just want to HUNT!
Ideal lease would be minimum 100 acres with plenty of cover, some water (stocked?), oaks or some other type of hard mast, a decent site to camp, guests allowed, elevation change, crop and/or ability to plant food plots (at my cost), within 2-3 hours of DFW. My budget is $3,000, unless the lessor would allow me to recruit more hunters. I am particular about who I hunt with so any others would be equally respectful of the owner, their land, neighbors, etc. I am a lifelong, ethical hunter with long-term management in mind. I have experience both owning and leasing land so I will always be mindful of the owner/lessor and will always communicate. Again, I just want a place to hunt and enjoy mother nature so all of the above are negotiable to a degree. Even if you don't have land to lease, any help tracking something down would be much appreciated!
