Took my young boy Jax out today. Great morning: dog work, a few birds and a couple of buddies.

The cover was too thick for us to hunt. That double dog box is perfect for rigging it for a UTV.

We hunted Saturday and Sunday morning. It was too hot for the dogs Saturday afternoon. Dry with too much gusty wind, but they managed a couple of points. Zero luck picking up singles. Lost one bird in the heavy cover, even though I watched it go down and thought I had marked it well.

That's an EZ Loader box and it's great. Much easier than my Patriot as the EZ Loader only weighs a few pounds. Check them out at http://easyloaderkennels.com/.

How many coveys did you find?

Several...we have quite a bit of land and most of it has big crop circles so we hunt a lot of corners as well as some 'trash' pits (old implements, etc) and some old home sites. Found quail in all areas. Coveys were 6-10 birds each. Also jumped several hen pheasants and three roosters.
