I'm sitting in the blind, it's 86 degrees outside according to my phone. I'm sweating like a rented government mule, and I can't open a window because the wasp are swarming the blind. Any suggestions to deter them?

I just knock down their nest. They freak out for a while, but go away eventually.

Wasp are really bad this time of year all around...especially panhandle area...if there is any kind of opening or crack they can infest a house or cabin or blind really fast...

Hang them in your blinds in July and you won't have wasp in October.

With this heat, they swarm no matter what you have in the blind. We have ours covered with deterents and one of our guys was harrassed all weekend. We just need cooler temps. They are preprarng for the winter which is hopefully coming. The strips are awesome then but before they just want in.

Might try a wasp trap or 2, there are many easy DIY if you google, or you can buy one. Hang one or 2 10-15 yards from the blind.

I use hanging wasp traps under my feeder. Caught about 200 last week. Crazy.

Last year, I killed 68 in one evening sitting in the blind. I probably looked like a fool if someone had had a camera on me.

Yup. I do the same thing when the wasps are thick.

i was out this past weekend doing final check on stands and blinds. I was checking out a tripod to make sure the the seat swiveled. Noticed earlier in the summer that it was binding pretty hard. I also needed to replace the seat cushion. I'm up 14', I lift up the cushion and there is a wasp nest and must have been 1000 wasps just under the cushion. I nearly fell backwards as they swarmed out. Fortunately they came out and away and not towards me. If I had a lighter, I would have torched the cushion. But all i had was spray lube which took care of the remaining wasps.

Now I have a drenched tripod that smells like oil, but at least its wasp free. I probably wont be hunting that spot for a few weeks and heavy rains.

We went and checked the cabin this weekend walked in turned on the AC and left for a few hours while it cooled off. Came back and there were literally thousands of wasps on the ceiling and around the light fixtures trying to find a place to get warm. Being so cold in the cabin it was very easy to kill them as they could barely fly anyways but we have no clue how they got in there. We sprayed foam sealant throughout the edges of any AC units they could possibly squeeze through and TAPED the air vents on the window units with duct tape. Hopefully we will not have to worry about them anymore inside the cabin. They were all over the inside of our shop also. I bet we used about 12-16 cans of wasp spray within a couple of hours.

This is fun but too loud for the deer blind. I have killed dozens of flies, a couple wasps, and one scorpion with this.
