Here's my new baby! My wife and I won this rifle on a $100 rafffle ticket! It's a Winchester model 70 sporter 308, and a tack driver. I was shocked to say the least when they called our ticket being that I've NEVER won anything like this before lol. After turning down several offers to sell it before we could get home, I'd decided to make her part of the family. I bought this leupold vx-3 to mount on her and had a not so good experience with the leupold staff. I voiced my concerns to leupold and was offered 50% off on lazed engravings. So I sent my scope in and didn't see it for 7-9 weeks. I finally made contact with my shop rep and he promised to get it going asap, verified my engraving requests, and advised me I'd have it in 2-3 weeks.... 4 weeks rolls around and no acope. 5th week I finally get it!!!!!! And the engravings were wrong bang I once again contact leupold and voice my concerns.... The shop manager apologizes and asks if they could send me a new scope with the right engravings, and just keep my original! So I now have 2 scopes and are satisfied despite my crazy experience. I sent a long email to the manger thanking him and making recommendations about a certain employee that wasn't doing his job. It's crazy what one bad apple can do to a company!
ANYWAY, here's a few pics of her!

Congrats on being the lucky winner - beauty of a rifle! Glad Leupold made it right - love their scopes.

Great looking gun, congratulations on the win! Buddy of mine won a Browning 20ga at a DU event a few years ago in similar fashion.

I will say that I sent Leupold a scope about two months ago. I received an email from them saying it would be about 24 days, and it was on my doorstep in 17 and everything was correct.

Yeah I hate that my 1st dealings with them were like that and have only heard good things about the company, hence why I chose their product. It was mainly 1 employee that just really seemed like he didn't care and caused lot's of problems. They told me my main delay was because it got caught up in processing, but once the shop manager contacted me and was made aware of my problem, I had a brand new scope on my door step in litteraly 7 days! Despite my mishaps, I am pleased with everything and LOVE that scope!

Very nice. But why is the National Wild Turkey Federation Gun of the Year a rifle? Shouldn't it be a shotgun?

It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

My thoughts as well. I did a little research a while back and there were several of these given away that year, but a very limited number. But yeah, the majority of these "top prize" guns, are shotguns. I'm sure there's someone on here that could provide better feedback.

Thanks! It really is! It's super light but doesn't reflect in the recoil... I find myself day dreaming about shooting it all the time lol
