You improvise, with a 12 point socket. Managed to get the die set to bump the shoulder .002"

I have used handgun brass for the same thing, trimmed it so it is squared up. We at that point are looking for the delta in sizing the brass and any accurate consistent method if measure will work.

Yessir.

Beats screwing the die down to the ram, raising the ram, and going another quarter turn.

I had the keep pressure on the jaws, and rotate the whole assembly to make sure everything was in line. Seemed to have worked fine.

Yes, I have used 40 and 45 brass as a head space gauge in a pinch.
