She turned 11 months old on Friday. We are working on single T right now and if keeps going well I think we can start running seasoned tests in the spring and maybe Finished next fall but could be the next spring....or later. I'll take it as it comes.

Thanks, definitely showed me some things I need to tighten up. I underestimated the excitement factor a little. She is a very obedient dog in the yard but was pulling on me coming out of that holding blind. She has also been delivering very nicely to hand for a while now and I was surprised at a few of the sloppy deliveries. We will get it shaped up though.

I know a lab named Kimber. She's an awesome hunter.

Do you have any info on when and where the next trial will take place?

Check HuntSecretary.com for UKC/Hunting Retriever Club events and EntryExpress for AKC Hunt Tests and Field Trials.

Yes, we started T work today and hoping to run some seasoned tests in the spring.

And as triggerbowtx stated huntsecretary and entryexpress are where to find the tests. The started test which we ran is the most basic level they have. If your dog gets the bird and brings it with the area around you you'll pass. It's a nice starting place for new trainers to get some experience and a little bit of a feel for how they are ran. It's also a challenge because there is a fairly large crowd watching and other dogs around to distract so its a lot different than when it's just you and your dog in a hay field.

I saw a few dogs start for the bird and then make line straight to the crowd to check out another dog. I saw some dogs also just get distracted right as the bird was launched and didn't mark it so they ran out a few yards and turned right around back to thier owner.
