Looking for a 22 pistol to teach my kids to shoot. Any suggestions.

If it's a stepping stone to bigger guns about the only one I've handled that felt right was the ruger 22/45. Of course there are a lot of great options out there. Another good one is the browning buckmark.

Wouldn't rule out a Ruger revolver. Simplistic and if you go the single action route, it helps teach patience as well.

I have a Walther P22 that is pretty fun and reliable to shoot. I dont really shoot pistols all that often so it doesn't get shot that much.

I learned to shoot with a heritage rough rider.

Ruger/Browning, Ford/Chevy. I like Chevy/Browning.

Nice small pistol to check out is the Ruger Bearcat. Bought one with the birds head grips and my girls love it.

I'm a fan of the old High Standard double nine. I have a couple of them and would like a few more. Good shooting pistols, that's what my oldest kids started on and shot well.

Buckmark or Ruger Mk1, Mk2 semi-auto or their single action revolver are all great 22's.

Buckmark URX or new Smith and Wesson Victory

start them close, teaching sight picture and trigger control. Once the understand how to use the sights correctly, move on to fun plinking targets, just like us, kids get bored shooting at paper, they like the reward of something happening with a well placed shot...

Ruger Bearcat is a nice smaller single action. If you can find one of the old model ones they are light weight as well

Can't go wrong with a Ruger or a Buckmark. I've been eyeing the new MK IV since my one pet peeve about my MK III is putting it back together when I take it all the way down for a good cleaning every once in a blue moon. The new S&W Victory is also a nice gun with a good trigger.

I have fond memories of learning to shoot pistols with my dad with a Colt Woodsman and High Standard Supermatic Citation.

I learned on a colt trooper MK1 in 22lr, id vote for the heritage if its going to be a beater, or a ruger single six if you want a good gun for life.

Ruger LCR 22 is a great revolver. Easy to shoot, easy to work, and no brass flying everywhere.

I love my Beretta Neos. Great shooting, good feeling in your hand, and if you get bored you can put a red dot on it. Fun gun for plinking.

Nothing wrong with a single six in any day. Of course, a lot depends on the size of the kids hands.
