It is certainly on in Cherokee county, saw two different bucks chasing last weekend. My buddy went down to our place outside of Alto this morning and on his way to check the camera's saw four bucks out during the day, two of which were actively chasing. Two of them were full on big boys too, the guys who stay nocturnal until it is time...
This is kind of early for my part of Texas, normally it does not start until mid November, but they are off to an early start this year!

Parker County at the homestead. Bucks are actively chasing but does not quite ready. With the cold front opening weekend might be good. Hunt in Eastland/Stephens County just west of Parker.

The young bucks are running around looking and hoping. The big bucks are just starting to cruise around. This little cool down, should really set the rut on.

Shackleford county bucks are starting. I watched several deer sparring this week and one chase a doe. But most are still running together with two or more bucks eating together at feeders. A little cool weather this week and they will be on.
