I am thinking bad idea. Do you have a funnel at the bottom of feeder so corn doesn't sit there for a long time and empties out pretty quick?

I have a 300 lb All Seasons feeder....the sides funnel down to a flat area about 4" wide and 12"-14" long.....corn sits there and the bugs eat away.....I was thinking about a small amount on each end of the flat area...away from the spinner.....didn't figure a small amount in that area would hurt anything....

But I don't know.....

Borax (sodium tetraborate decahydrat) sprinkled in with the corn should do the job, and is harmless to mammals.

Diatomaceous Earth (often referred to as "DE") most feed stores should have it.

The DE that you can get a a swimming pool store is not the same as you would get at a feed store and is not safe for this use.
