Shoot the front one and get a 3 for 1. The young rams, ewes and young ones are good eating.

Been feeding them very well, good pot belly on that one. How do you cook um, like a goat over open fire?

that front one is crazy pregnant and will probably have twins given her size.

if you want to eat them, like the person above said, go for younger females if possible.
the meat is good and mild.

makes awesome jerky too since the leg meat is a little tougher than whitetail.

like with anything, clean it quickly and get it cooled down quickly...
on our place, they eat well and as a result, they taste good.
never had anyone complain about the aoudad when i cook it for them.

plenty of opinions here about Aoudad being horrible... and they are entitled to that opinion.
i will continue to say that on my place they are good. those folks who have had bad experiences typically are either not able to get the meat cooled down quickly due to where they are hunting... or they are not having the meat prepared and cooked properly. this is not a fatty animal and cannot be cooked like beef.
i have cooked aoudad tenderloins or backstraps seared in olive oil with only sea salt and pepper to taste many many times.
very simple recipe cooked to medium rare at the most. People who hate wild game will eat it and want to know my recipe for this cut of beef...

I Feed Indian Corn. The deer love it and all the colors make them stay at the feeder longer.

Another on good info from rsquared. On the diet part, I have had people tell me that some areas of panhandle the deer taste off/tart because all of the winter rye they eat up there?

I've never had Aoudad but would like to try it. rsquared, for the tougher cuts like the hams and shoulders would you slow cook in some type liquid?

Ever had curry goat? It's a popular Jamaican dish.

I've never had it with Aoudad, but I ate smoked Aoudad once. I bet they would make great curry goat!

I have killed 6 young rams and ewes and all were good eating. Take good care of it and keep it clean. Get it skinned quickly and on ice, I also soak it in ice water with garlic salt to remove as much blood as possible. Good Stuff.... grill
