Still preparing and gathering info, so be patient with me. From what I can gather, hunting hogs after dark is an awesome way to kill them. But that requires night vision scopes. Just initially browsing on Midway and a few other places, these things are EXPENSIVE! I have never been one to buy junk optics because I know what happens with them, but what do you guys suggest as an "entry level" night optics that is dependable and usable? I'd like to stay somewhere in the vicinity of $1000 if I can get quality equipment in that price range.

I use the Photon. It's good for about 100 yrd. I added a light to mine and it's good to about 250.It's digital, not thermal but I enjoy it. Should be able to get one for about $450 if you look around.

I use a Photon and mostly hunt from stands with avg shots between 85-125 yards. I added a UNV IR and have been pleased with the setup. Simple, reliable, easy on batteries. I added a Pulsar HD19A thermal handheld for spotting and feel like this is the best effective/value combination currently available.

Roll- I would look at doing QD scope mounts on your scopes so you don't have to lug around two weapons. Just my humble opion

I would think so, but you can always write down the values. The scope reticle adjustments are digital. The questionable part of it would be the rings you select.

Haha yea I polished that thing for hours.
