Who is using these? I've been shooting a lot of Sporting Clays and 5 Stand and need to invest in a good pair of ear protection. Ear muffs are too cumbersome and Ear plug are not enough protection. I looked at the ESP Elite Digital but at $1600 that is a serious investment and don't know if I want to go there yet. I stumbled across the SportEar and Walker's Digital HD game ears priced at a 10th of the ESP's. They are rated at NRR 29 which is almost as good as the Blue Peltors. I am considering the HD Pro Elite or HD Power Elite.
Is anyone using any of these aparatus's and how are they working out for you?

I went to an audiologist, had them do a hearing test - and for $100, they did the test and did a mold of my ear canal, and custom made ear plugs, with a removable circular sections that you can specify how many DBs you want hearing protection for. I usually use my 25 to 30DB reducers. I use these when I hunt and they have suited me well. Might be worth looking into. Because they are custom to you, they fit better and allow for better overall protection.

I use the Walkers HD Pro Elite and have for 3 years, but not for what you are wanting them for. I need hearing aids but did not have the $8,000 that they wanted for a set. So, I bought a Walkers game ear at Cabelas for $200 on sale and now hear things that I could never hear before. Only problem is that I can't say to the wife anymore when she asks me to do something...I didn't hear you.
Cabin rental in Pagosa Springs, Co. Sleeps 10, If interested please PM me.

Thank you for sharing your valuable input. Never considered this as a option.

Earplugs work fine if they are worn right. Electronic hearing protection is nothing more than ear plugs with hearing aids built in. The electronic part does nothing for blocking sounds.
