Wanting to get a good quality bore sighter that actually works. I bought the Persuit bore sight kit from Bass pro today and it was junk. Because of the way the arbors fit the barrels, the rifle grooves mess up the alignment of bore sight. Is a laser bore sight the way to go? Any one whom has experience with this matter please lend me your advise. I have numerous rifles, a slug shotgun and to muzzle loaders to check, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Are you wanting to just boresight and then go hunt or are you wanting to boresight so you can get close and then go check zero at the range?

I've been happy with my laser setup. Everything from pistol, rifle and shotgun works great.

Look at depth to avoid lands/groove issues...no reason bore tool has to be bttw

I have an arbor bore sighter and a laser bore sighter. The arbor one I use on bolt and lever action rifles. The laser bore sighter I use for shotguns and AR's. It is the most versatile as it can be used on bolts and levers too. I would avoid the laser sighters that are shaped like a cartridge and fit in the chamber. There may be good ones out there but I haven seen one. The one I use is pricey but I mount a lot of scopes. It has a green laser which is much easier to see in daylight. They have one with a red laser that is considerably less expensive. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/2130726870/wheeler-engineering-professional-laser-bore-sight
