Went out to the to ranch this weekend with the family, had some cleaning and other work that needed to get done. Decided to try to get some hunting in why I was there, sat Saturday morning but didn't see anything. We got finished with everything later than expected Saturday, it was hot and I was exhausted so didn't get to the stand.
So as I'm looking out across the pasture, admiring the moon and manning the burn pile, I see the most amazing 10 point buck watching me from across the field. I ran to the mule to grab my binos and watched him for a few minutes. Apparently there's a huge buck in the area that got lose from the high fence ranch behind us, he's nicknamed "The Ghost" With the temps expected to drop a bit this week, you better believe I'll be out next weekend chasing him.
Going to get a feeder and camera up over there next weekend.
Since I don't have any picture of him, I'll leave you with this one of my burn pile and the moon.
