Just looked through the Viper 15X 50 on an 1100 yard range. They're pretty darned clear. I was impressed.

You can actually buy a pair if Leica 10x42 binocs now for under a grand.
The Trinovids which are old for Leica but still clearer than any binos around a grand.f

While not under a grand @ 1350 the Mavens are top of the sub 2k price point

Swarovski 15x56 SLC HD. If 2 grand plus tax new don't scare you then there is no reason to look any further because you won't find a better pair of 15X binos period. Also, you can throw them at whatever animal your hunting and kill them if your aim is good as they weight quite a bit. Under a grand, I am not sure you'll find a good pair of 15X binos unless you can find an older pair of 15x56 swarovskis with a little wear and tear.

I had a set of Swarovski but they where in that tractor fire , they was about 10 years old or so and i really liked them but not the price now days it's not a problem to spend that much other than i just cant justify the price
