I wonder why they dont have that available for people? I think I would get one, just in case!

Our vet told us it was a waste of money and that they would treat the dog in the exact same way regardless if they had the antivenom or not.

We opted to get it either way but I'm not sure we will next year.

Read something on online last night that the worst snakebite states are TX, Florida, North Carolina, West Virginia and Oklahoma. Copperhead bites have risen 127% over the past 2-3 years if I recalled the article correctly though it said their bites rarely lead to fatalities. I guess that's true but surely don't quote that to a Copperhead snakebite victim I'm guessing.

Either get good insurance or go down to Mexico and buy 10 vials of the sister product for $100. Very few bites by folks that do not pick them up or try to.

Waste no. If your dog is producing the anti bodies how is that a waste? If your dog is vaccinated and only require 10-20% or even 50% of the vials needed you just save a lot of money. In fact 50 years of 2x a year vac is just one vial

Donate to TX Youth hunting program.... better to donate then to waste it in taxes

Just saw on news a toddler is in Fort Worth hospital now. He got 22 vials for a rattlesnake that bit him while building a campfire with his dad in the panhandle. Hope he has insurance. He will be fine luckily.

Great Article..

I have been told if you are around Southern States or Hospitals closer to common Snake Bites they have the Anti Venom needed but some don't carry it.
