Got some new land I am going to hang a stand and start hunting and was curious how much it would effect the deer having a feeder go off in the morning and evening? The land was just recently purchased by a friend and it doesn't appear anyone ever hunted or did anything with the land.
I'm tempted to hunt when I can on the weekends without the feeder starting off, as to not disturb the area anymore then I need to. However, I would hate to wait until Halloween time or later to put the feeder down and effect the deer during potential rut time.

It won't hurt at all. It will only help. It'll take a few days for them to find it.

As everyone said....the best sound in the morning if you are deer hunting is the feeder going off.

The sound of the feeder going off is the dinner bell to deer.

It won't hurt at all. It will only help. It'll take a few days for them to find it. Probably less time that that. There have been many times I have put up a feeder and checked on it the very next day to find that the deer had already been all over it.

Depends on what part of country you are in. Hand corn might work better.

If there's deer there, after a while they will recognize that sound as a "dinner bell". A bit longer and you'll find 'em standing around waiting for it to go off....
A fellow I once hunted with hung 1/16" thick small steel plates around his feeder and we could hear it ring from the front gate!

I have a new feeder I got last season that has a remote button that will let you "push the button" from your blind and throw feed anytime you want. When I set it up in a area I hadn't used before I played with it a few times. I'd let the deer start moving off and hit the feed button again. Dang if they didn't turn around and come right back for more. I think deer know the sound and know what it means. You should be fine, so enjoy the outdoors.
I Feed Indian Corn. The deer love it and all the colors make them stay at the feeder longer.

Food or water, deer will flock to it!
When I started on my lease, I put out a feeder near a known deer trail (land owner gave me a trail tip). Set up the feeder, dumped out extra corn and waited. 1st week, no deer, 2nd week several does. Then after a month or so we had bucks coming in.
The longer the feeder is in 1 spot the better. Deer will grow up going to it and get more comfortable.

We usually see deer the same day we put a new feeder up. It definitely doesn't bother them but it may take a couple days or so to find the food. Either way, put it out and they will come. Deer usually won't turn down a free meal unless there is something better for them to eat.

Last year I was sitting on a ridge overlooking a small draw area. when the feeder went off in the evening I literally saw a small buck run to the feeder. Within 10 minutes from the time it went off I had 10 deer milling around the area. They get to know the sound of the feeder going off and love it.
All Bucks are not created equal.
