I'm not great at aging deer, but his face looks older than a 3yr old.

I would say 4.5 or even 5.5. Full body, thick brisket, back sway, neck full to brisket, full nose and starting to see a little hump in it.

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.

You are off on age, 4.5-5.5 yo and think you are pretty close on score, 125-130 would be my estimate.

My thoughts. I want to call him a 5.5.

I think your right on regarding the score 130" looks right to me. He is mature IMO and another year, if the feed stays good he will probably finish out with longer G4s and be in the high 130s +.

I'd say he certainly looks 4.5 years old. Score in the mid 120s

JMO but that buck is 5 and mid 120's. Not enough mass to get him into the 130's.

In the end, it's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years.

If I were in a two buck AR county and this deer showed up I am not sure I would hold back. Assuming this is Palo Pinto County and being pretty certain this deer is older and approaching post-mature status, I would think he is a shooter.

You are right on his age. That deer is the poster child for all the young bucks about to hit the dirt this year. Every buck I have looks two years older than they actually are this year.

I'd say 6-7. He looks like one of those long/lanky legged bucks body wise making him appear younger than he is. If we were all trying to guess based on the front shoulders up the guesses would be higher on age.

Older deer, the eyes are not round like a young deer, lot of definition in the face, and body looks mature.

After studying your pics. again my earlier post could have been more wishful thinking than accurate assessment. On WMA I would probably take him if he shows up at the right time.
