I thought I would post a few pics from my hunt in Northern NM.

It was raining off and on and was walking to the spot for the morning setup. Stopped and called and all of a sudden a bull screamed from about a 100 yards away! He started coming straight at me, breaking branches and making a hell of a racket. I got my rifle ready and saw him at about 60 yards but couldn't get a shot. He kept coming and at 42 yards shot him, he ran back the way he came and I heard him crash. I felt good about the shot (300 Win Mag), waited about 15 minutes and went to look for him. He's a mature 5X4. Not a huge trophy but I'm very happy with him.

Love the mountains but hope you are in shape, 9000 ft. is no joke!

How did you pack him out? Like what pack/frame did you use or just rough it with quarters over your back/shoulder, lol

Mystery Ranch Crew Cab. I use the lid as a day pack. Luckily it was not a tough pack out.

Great pictures. You let them do the talkin'. Well done sir. And congratulations. Where's Herd's? I've probably passed it and didn't even know it. I'll make it a point to stop, if you enlighten me.

Jacksboro, TX. If you blink you will miss it. It's tucked just back off the main drag there on the West side of the street.

Thanks CR. Yes, as Theringworm says, it's in Jacksboro in an old house. I usually stop on the way to and from whitetail hunting. It's worth a stop!

You caught me! ;-) I was too tired to take any more pictures. Slept for 10 hours when I got back and thinking about doing it again.

Win Model 70, 300 Win Mag 180 grain Federal Trophy Copper. Setup and practiced for long range, did not expect to shoot him at bow range.
