I have no plan on reloading since it doesnt interest me at the moment. However I have decided to start saving my brass from my 6.8 since it isnt the most popular on the shelves.
Can I just throw them in an open box and just forget about them?
It was raining at the range today and I was picking them up out of puddles, Should I dry them or do anything to them?
thanks

Just save them. You can rinse them off, if you like. To reload them, you have to clean them first, and this will bring them back clean enough to reload them.

Store them in whatever you want. If they look terribly dirty a guy with a stainless tumbler can bring them back to near new. Several of us have those type of tumblers, that would be happy to help out.

Just assure that they are dry before you store them. I'd hate to put wet brass in a ziplock bag and expect them to be in reasonable shape after a month.

The vessel is the extra large one Thumbler's sells. I can run 250 short action pieces in ten pounds of media.

5 gallon buckets, as mentioned let them dry before storing in container.

I used a Thumbler's Model B and also have a home-built job using the old large Lortone buckets as well as a small lortone.
I've also got a lyman 1200 with walnut media and nufinish polish mixed in. After the ss cleaning, I'll typically dry them out and then stick them in the lyman to get that ultra shiny case...and I think it might help keep the oxidation down if storing for a while.
I will fear no evil, for thou art with me.
