I finally finished the accounting class I was in and have time to catch up on some video. This is from a week ago and is the first hunt of fall for me. I was using a 12.5" barreled 6.8 with 90 grain gold dots and 120 sst hand loads. The scope is an Armasight Zeus 75mm 640. Hope you enjoy the show. Let me know if there is anything specific you want to see about the gear or questions about the way I hunt.

The second video had one doing the circle jerk. Too many misses but got some down. Better than me.

Nice video! That was a target-rich environment, for sure!

Nice vid !

I thought I had read, sometime back, maybe in another forum that you swore off the 90gr GoldDot as in effective .

I recall you and TXlawman using them around the same time maybe even splitting an ammo purchase and one or both of you came away unimpressed .

Am I losing my mind?

Pig_Popper,

You're correct. Lawman and I did a review on them together and he did some more testing on his own after that. I thought the bullets did not perform nearly as well as the 120 sst, but I wanted to try them from a short barrel hoping the results would be a little different. After a couple more hunts with them I've decided to save them for target practice. I used them from a helicopter and they worked fairly well, but the shot angle is different compared to shooting from the ground and the opportunity to put multiple shots in one target is much higher. If you aren't worried about recovering the hogs then the 90 gold dots work fine. It will kill the hogs, but they won't drop in sight.

I used them on three hunts after that they were reserved for plinking and steel targets. They may be great for two legged targets but cant recommend them for hogs.
