I don't take kindly to walking out the back yard and seeing a raccoon on my fence. Grabbed the gamo .17 cal and hit him in the head he fell over the fence and didn't go 10 yds. Was surprised the .17 worked so well on him.

Good job! The masked bandits seem to be having a banner year, so the more you can eliminate the better we off we are! That .17 pill to the head will mess them up quickly!

I've been having possum problems in my back yard. Keep trying to go after my chickens. My ruger pellet gun to the head drops em where they lay.

I need to get a pellet gun. skinned the head, boiled, used a wire brush to get all the loose flesh and stuff off, boiled some more with dish soap to degrease then picked the last bit of flesh and what not off and got the brains out. Once it was clean I bleached it overnight in peroxide and then glued the bottom jaw back together and it was done.

First time trying to preserve a coon tail. Have no idea if I did it right. Basically fleshed it, tacked it down covered in salt for 2 days, scraped salt off and applied new salt 2 more days, then I washed it well in warm water to soften it up got the last little bit of flesh off then smoked it for 2 hours on low heat till it was completely dried out. Does that sound about right or did I completely screw this up

I have no clue. Time will tell. Pellet guns are BA these days. I live out of the city limits so I have no need for one. I'd have one if needed.

You can smoke it to preserve it, won't last as long as some other methods maybe but I don't think you'll have issues if you fleshed it real good.
Nice lookin' tail.
