No kidding. Hey, at least you don't have to take them in to the vet's office and see that look on their face when you pull in the driveway. I swear they know what's coming. My Tiny got hit by one Thursday evening. I didn't know about it till the next morning as I was about to leave for work. Face was swollen big. Wife took her to the vet and she's all better now.

I looked at the vaccine a couple.of years ago and seems like it only protected against the Eastern Diamondback. I don't think we have many of those here? Has the vaccine improved?

My dog has been bitten twice with no lasting effects. Thursday she got it right across bridge of the nose. I've never seen a rattlesnake here but lots of copperheads

All of mine have got them, hopefully we never have to see how well it works. I did however get to drop $2200 on my pup last night... Somehow that little turd found some rat poison laying around. No good.

No good. This makes me curious. My GSP decided he wanted to eat an entire block back last winter. I freaked out as it was Christmas day and no vets were open. Pop said "not to worry". We forced him to drink about a half a bottle of hydrogen peroxide, which made he throw up the poison. We then fed him charcoal from last nights fire and he has been the same dog ever sense. Anyone else who has gone this route or is the vet your route?

maybe a year and a half ago my dad and grandpa were at our ranch and put our dogs in one of our empty garages while they went out. They found rat poison behind a fridge and and ate it. Since the poison was likely old old and they didn't know which combination of the three dogs we had ate it, they just took them to the country vet and the vet gave them charcoal. Said that if they acted funny to take them in, but they all were fine.

Inducing vomiting with hydrogen peroxide works very well if you can catch them shortly after ingesting the rat poison. However, it it has been days since ingestion, and they are severely anemic, more drastic measures are required.
