I like this one assuming you have a 1:10 twist or faster. It shoots very well in my rifle. Sierra 65 Gameking

Nosler makes a 60gr partition. Not a 62 or 64.
Factory Ammo or handloads?

twist is the key, don't know of to many .223's with fast twist, assuming its a bolt

THIS ^^^^^^^^^^^ I reload them for 2 different ARs and they shoot extremely well. Most any factory twist rate will shoot them well. With the 22 caliber bullets you need to assure penetration, and most are designed for varmint use. The Partition is a good choice.

Good point. And I think it goes without saying that when using smaller calibers shot placement is of critical importance.

Those would be my first choices, but based on what I've read and heard. No plan to pursue the idea, though.

If not a hand loader, I've had good accuracy with Fed Fusion 62 gr bonded. I think you may need a 1:10 twist to stabilize though.
I was wrong...on anything technical. Fitz............. is right, ya know............

Good point. And I think it goes without saying that when using smaller calibers shot placement is of critical importance. Like right below the ear, in the center of the neck. My favorite shot placement on does. No tracking, no meat damage.

If not a hand loader, I've had good accuracy with Fed Fusion 62 gr bonded. x2. Same as the Gold Dot 62gr, which the FBI says is the best 'blind barrier' 5.56 round. (blind barrier think: bone in a hunting situation). But accuracy is PARAMOUNT when shooting a deer w/a 223/556.

My son used the 65 grain Sierra BTSP last year for several does. I wasn't too impressed with the performance, with no exit and no blood trail. I plan to try 2 bullets this season- 64 grain Nosler bonded and an Outlaw 87 grain SP. The 87 grain should have great penetration, which is what I want. I'll try those first, then the 64 grain to see which I like better.

Doesn't Sierra make a game king bullet in the 60+ weight? That'd probably do it

One I really like in the 22cal if you have the twist rate to run it is the 75gr Swift Sirocco, they make a 62gr version also. I run the 75gr ones in a 22-243 with a 1:8 27 inch barrel. Running at a mild 3200fps load, thinking about finding a load in the 3500fps range should get interesting.

Anyone use Barnes?
The 80 gr TTSX in 243 has worked well for me. Have a young nephew that might use a 223 this year.

First choice would be 60 grain nosler partition, I have used them for years both factory and hand loaded. Federal loads them. Second would be the nosler 64 grain bonded performance.

Just started a thread on DRT ammo. If for real, would be the perfect answer to your question.
