Well guys it's been a very long road.... And now it's longer cause I just typed this whole post only for my screen to crash and loose it all.... Lol. SOOOO here we go again...
We are finally at a place we will be taking pre orders next week.
Testing has been going well! We did make some changes, mostly internal but some cosmetic.
Here is the FINAL vector prototype. Only thing we changed in production us open the ejection port a little more.
True one piece bolts take a lot of material....
(Yes, I know what this looks like.....
Those are Vector bolts...the Axiom is more of a hybrid one piece. The strap part out through the "safety" cut on the action is one piece... The "handle" is tig welded then final machined. We have tested this and when hit with a hammer it bends the handle before it ever thinks of breaking.
Also put this short video together as we have had lots of questions and concerns with the bolt lift of a 3 lug action. Obviously, bolt lift is heavily dependent on firing pin spring rate... 18-28# springs.... Using a chrome silicon spring combined with the roller ball cocking piece it turned out pretty smooth. This video is not a scientific experiment nor do they all have same springs in them but gives you a general idea. Our spring came out right around 20#. Video
I'll update next week when we open pre orders.
