Guess I'm pretty lucky. Got drawn for Kerr WMA Management hunt and Kickapoo Caverns Antlerless. They are back to back weeks and I can only do one. Which one would you choose? Why?

I have hunted Kickapoo but not Kerr. Kickapoo had quite a few exotics and was a very fun hunt. Tough decision, but a good problem to have.

Oh forgot to mention that the exotics at Kickapoo are Sheep and Goats.

I've been to Kerr twice and Kickapoo Caverns three times. Never had any luck at Kerr but have done well at Kickapoo. Killed several of the exotics there and grandson killed a couple on the youth hunt. I would go back to Kickapoo in a heart beat. Good luck

thanks for the inputs. sounds like kerr may be an easier hunt (baiting allowed and blinds in place) but Kickapoo may have more exotics. The success rate at Kerr is higher but probably because it's easier? decisions, decisions......

My cousins hunted Kickapoo 3 yr ago now and the had hunted Kerr back in the 70's or 80's. They hunted Kickapoo after the bad drought and did not see many deer at all, no exotics and a couple of hogs. I think they saw 4-5 deer total amongst 3 hunters. They were really disappointed in the hunt they had compared to Kerr years ago. I hunted Kerr in back to back years archery then rifle in the second year in the late 90's. I saw a few bucks/does one archery hunt and not a deer the first archery hunt. Saw a lot of sign..rubs, scrapes and tracks. I saw quite a few bucks and a few does the rifle hunt and I did rattle in 3 axis bucks but no WT first week of Dec. Kerr does not have a very high deer density and not an easy hunt unless you hit the right weather and time of the year for the rut. We could bait but there were no blinds when I hunted there on Kerr. My cousins said over-all Kickapoo was thicker the year they hunted than back when they hunted Kerr. Kerr has open areas with good grass cover but still some cedar thickets.
