I've been drawn for three hunts this year, two antlerless, one either sex. I also drew an antlerless deer permit at SHNF. Now, I've drawn archery deer at Laguna Atascosa. My wife is gonna be ticked off this year. Not a lot is going to get done around the house.

Howdy, I drew Archery at Laguna Atascosa too! Have you ever been down there? This is my first time to get drawn for anything.

I did the rifle hunt a few years ago. Skunked out. It's a tough hunt.

Congrats. Years like this make up for all the years you draw a goose egg. I hunted the Laguna atascosa several times. It's a tough hunt, but if you find a trail it can be very rewarding. I even saw a Nilgai one year. All my hunts have been with a rifle, so archery should be pretty hard to say the least.

I'd love to get a nilgai but I don't have my hopes up. They culled the nilgai by helicopter pretty severely this year. Honestly, I was hoping to not get drawn for this one. I was just wanting a point. Now that I've been drawn though, I'm going. Last time I hunted there, I flubbed three opportunities to connect, including a very mature whitetail. All I came home with was a bad case of chiggers. I want to redeem myself!

Never been drawn for the state hunts. This is my 11th year of applying. This is going to be the year.

Was drawn a couple of times for federal NWR's. Those were crazy, and not too anxious to repeat that experience.

My best advice would be to get in shape. It's a tough hunt. It's a huge area, lot's of hiking through soft sand, and lot's of dragging if you connect.

I was given a SHNF doe tag again this year. Last year couldnt get out much with a bad case of plantar fasciitis. But ready to get it done this year.

OK, this is ridiculous. I go several years without getting drawn for anything, and this year, I get drawn for everything. I drawn for GDE at Gus Engeling, GDA at Hill Country, GDA at Lake Whitney, Archery deer at Laguna Atascosa, and a doe permit at Sam Houston. Now, I drew the second draw for GDA at Atlanta! The problem is, there is no way I can take this much vacation. Oh well.

FYI, for those standby folks, there will be at least 1 standby spot for the GDA hunt at Atlanta SP. I'll have to pass on it.
