Is there any way to tell? Someone told me that you could tell draw order by your permit # and that is the order you get to select your compartment on a hunt. Any ideas or truths to this? This will be my 1st time on a drawn hunt.

The management office could go by draw order, but a few years ago we drew numbers from a hat.

Yes it's true but you'll first need to know how many people are in your hunt. Easiest way is to just call them and ask.

Yea, sometimes they go by draw number, sometimes out of a hat, and sometimes they go by ability to access the area. If the hunt is in a rugged or muddy area, they might give the harder to get to compartments to folks that have atvs. They will also try to accommodate someone with a disability. Depends on the folks running the hunt.

And we don't use our own tags on this hunt do we?

I hunted Matador a few years ago. They went by draw order. And you don't use the tags on your license. They will issue you a tag after you bring your deer to the check-in area.

Matador does it in order draw. There are no bad compartments on the Matador for doe hunts. You get to pick your compartment.
