Have you ever hunted with or around someone that makes every buck that they see either a cull or a trophy? Seems to me that most of the bucks I see are closer to being in the middle rather than on one end of the spectrum or the other. Makes me think these people hunt a lot less than they say. Or are they just wanting to shoot a deer, any deer?

I use cull and trophy lightly because to me they are defined by a hunter or hunters on a given property or properties, so to each their own.

Guys who use the term heavily from my experience use the term to define deer they would shoulder mount vs throw in the bone pile. Or are trying to sound hunt savvy.

I hunted with a guy once who every buck he saw was a "monster." However they were just a little to far or in the brush or just could not get a clean shot at it. I never saw a shooter buck that season and we were not in an AR county.
