There are factors to consider.
Draw length of course and whether you shoot with fingers or a release aid.
Most compound users use a release aid instead of a finger or tab release, and thus you could shoot a shorter arrow out of the compound.
With a recurve depending on how you aim using either a gap or instinctive release.
With a gap release you use the tip of the arrow to aim and instinctive is just that using your instinct to know where to aim.
Thus longer arrows are an advantage using a recurve.
