We have a spike at the feeders and he has two single UN-branched spike antlers. In my County Kaufman we have antler restrictions and a buck with an UN-branched antler is legal to harvest. I say what we have is a young buck with no Branched antlers and as such too young to have branched antlers and not legal to harvest.

Am I right???

Legal.

From the handbook, :In antler restricted counties, a legal buck deer is defined as having:
•a hardened antler protruding through the skin AND;
•at least one unbranched antler; OR
•an inside spread measurement between main beams of 13 inches or greater (does not apply to a buck that has an unbranched antler).

"At least one unbranched antler. That means 2 unbranched antlers are legal too.

Age doesn't play into antler restrictions. Could be a one year old spike and be legal. Could also be a 9 year old 200" freak but if he's not 13" wide, he's illegal to shoot.

So it seems the buck with two unbranched antlers would be legal ?

Correct, if it seems like a yearling I would let it walk. Any older and its meat in the freezer
