I am planning an Dove and Duck hunt next year to Argentina, can anyone tell me if it is legal to import the birds back to taxidermy them? Also if there is a member that could assist me with importing and mounting them please.
Thank you

I wouldn't think it would be any different (less cost) than mounts from Africa

Unless things have changed Argentina doesn't like you to take birds out of the country. On the US side they dont care as long as you have appropriate paperwork from a USDA approved taxidermist. I went there 5 years ago and my outfitter stated that if we put the birds in a icechest and try to check them in, they would confiscate the birds. I brought back around 12 different species by having them fully frozen and packed in my check in luggage. We wrapped the birds in trash bags and stuffed in my waders and coats. When we checked in our luggage at the airport everything went smooth. They didnt ask any questions, and I didnt say anything about birds in the luggage. Once I arrived at Houston I took the birds out and put them in a collapsible ice chest and went through customs declaring the birds and having no problem what so ever. Houston is by far the easiest airport to declare birds at. Hope this helps. As my outfitter stated if in checked luggage you more than likely will get birds back no problem. If they do say something then the worse thing they would do is confiscate the birds and send you on your way. I plan to go back in a few years, still some birds I need for my collection...
