Doves in Córdoba (Argentina) are considered a pest and we need hunters to help us try to control that pest

In Córdoba dove season is open year round and there is no bag limit. Hunting fields are only 20 minutes from our lodge and while in the field you will be provided with beverages and snacks, hunters return to the lodge for lunch and relax after the morning hunt.

A hunter can easily shoot 1,000 or more shots per day and many shoot more than 1,000 doves a day! Take a look at this blog post with the stats of a group that has been hunting with us a few weeks ago; also you have video and pictures from that hunt.

You will shoot with a Beretta Urika AL391 or A400 Xcel .20 gauge semi-automatics. Airport is "Ambrosio Taravella" Córdoba international airport [COR], our staff will meet you at the airport and transport the group to the Lodge. El Cortijo lodge is just an hour drive from the airport. At each stage of your trip our staff will be there to assist.

Currently we have a dove hunting package with this proposed itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival. Transfer to the lodge. Lunch. Afternoon dove hunt.
Day 2: Hunt doves in the morning and afternoon.
Day 3: Hunt doves in the morning and afternoon.
Day 4: Morning dove hunt. Lunch. Transfer to the airport.

Price per hunter: USD 2,055 (1,000 shells included)
Non-hunter: USD 600 (it's USD 200 per night)


What's included in the price?

- All inclusive accommodation
- All meals (including breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner)

Price does not include: Airfare, additional shells (USD 13 x box), tips.

There are no hidden fees or unexpected cost, tips are usually USD 40 per hunter per day for the bird boy and USD 40 per person per day for the lodge staff. Other than that you will pay the extra shells you shoot at USD 13 per box of 25 shells, keep in mind that your package already includes 1,000 shells for you. Airfare is not included.

You can check average average weather for Cordoba here, the warm season goes from September to February. Dove hunting is high-volume any month of the year.

El Cortijo lodge was specifically designed for hunters and we combine that with 5 Star service. We now have 10 rooms with private bathrooms laid out around a swimming pool and Jacuzzi. The main lodge combines several uses in one large room to enhance your enjoyment and social interaction. In addition to the country style dining area, there is a “casual- living” area with a fireplace, a desk and a computer. If you prefer the bar, there are always tasty hors d'oeuvres and a good selection of liquor, beer and wine. Food is the highlight of the trip. Argentina is known for its fine beef and Malbec wine and you will have the best of both at the Lodge.

Hi Gamblinman, yes, we know that box of shells are not cheap but most outfitters here in Argentina sell the box of shells at that price or higher. We have a pretty big inflation rate in the country and it's just now starting to drop a bit.

How far are you from the airport? Can you substitute a pigeon hunt for a dove hunt? How much land do you have access to?

Our lodge is just 1 hour drive from the airport, hunting fields are 15 minutes drive from the lodge. We have several hunting fields near the lodge, it's a lot of land and we can handle up to 20 hunters, that will give you an idea of how big hunting fields are.

We do have pigeon hunting, those hunting fields are a bit far from the lodge, 1 hour drive. The day you hunt pigeons you will have a typical argentinian "asado" (similar to a BBQ) in the field instead of having lunch at the lodge. Pigeon hunting bag limit is 150 per day.

If you want the same USD 2,055 package but on the day #3 hunt pigeons instead of doves the package price will be USD 2,305.

Can you prepay for shells and get them cheaper? Do you cook lunch in the field for the dove hunters?

My wife wants to go and only hunt 2 days is that possible? Throw in another 1000 shells and I will book with you for next april

Yes, you wife can hunt the days she want, no problem about that. When dove hunting you will return to the lodge for lunch and after lunch you also have time for a short nap before the afternoon hunt. You have lunch at the field only when you hunt pigeons because that field is a bit far.

Pricing for you wife could be like this one:

Day 1: Arrival. Transfer to the lodge. Lunch. Relax.
Day 2: Hunt doves in the morning and afternoon.
Day 3: Hunt doves in the morning and afternoon.
Day 4: Relax. Lunch. Transfer to the airport.

Price: USD 1,250 (no shells included)

I'm not able to give you another 1,000 shells, pre-paid shells are USD 12.50 per box instead of USD 13.

This is actually cheap compared to other hunts. This has been the norm for the last decade in that area, research helps.

Yes Bermise, I didn't want to say that we have cheap prices, but we do if you compare with other outfitters in the country.

We have a SPECIAL PRICE from December 2016 to February 2017, instead of USD 2,055 you will pay USD 1,850 for the same all-inclusive package.

Does anyone have any experience with this outfitter? This is something I have always wanted to do and it seems very reasonable.
