BMI...

Wow, wife had her health screening at work last week. If you score in the healthy department you get a $100 bill and she did. She showed me some of the paper work and the BMI chart... at the lightest I have ever been in my entire adult life I was still in the overweight category by appx 5 lbs. At that weight my parents told me I looked sick roflmao

Looking at the chart turned some lights on, bought a scale, going to try to get back to running and the gym, put on a few... ok about 50 lbs since college.

That's what the sad thing is. When I lost my weight people were saying that I was too skinny. I still had 10-15# to lose. I think it's because America is getting so used to being fat that a "few extra pounds" is healthy. It's not true, it's all about your body fat index, but I'm at 6' and weigh 172# with a 9% bfi. I still have pounds to lose, and I would like to get to 200# of muscle. But when I weighed 200# of fat, it was disgusting and people wouldn't of called me fat, but I was.

Sorry about the rant, just tired of America being okay with being overweight.

I'm 6' tall and at my lightest weight 185 lbs. But that was also the best shape I have ever been in, I was my strongest and best endurance.

When we got married my wife didn't want me going to the gym so I kept running after a year or so quit that too. Pisses me off if I would have just kept up the gym maintaining would have been easy, but now I'm working on that hill again!

There's a definite obesity problem in our great country. However, I'm convinced the whole BMI thing was started by marathon runners. We try to eat healthy and exercise moderately. Otherwise, we go on about our lives and try to enjoy it! I refuse to make exercise one of the major defining factors of my identity, like so many of my children's generation (and some of my children) do.

Why didn't she want you going to the gym?

If your 6' and 172 lbs @ 9% bf your not close to being overweight.

The BMI scale is bogus. Go by body fat %

I'm borderline obese by BMI scales and if you've ever seen me you know that's not the case

I'm 24.5 on the scale. Obese is 25

Did it sneak up on ou overnight or was it a gradual thing?

Some of my buddies put on some weight after marriage and kids and it seemed to spring up on them overnight

Gradual. Started watching what I'm eating more and walking more. I have always walked a mile at lunch ( I have a desk job) have added 2 miles after work to that wife and I do together with the kiddo. Also bought a scale, has always been a big help to me to be able to weigh myself every morning/evening, keeps me on the right track. Down about 5 lbs. Weekends are tuff for me too much good food and drink bang

When I say I'm not a morning person I'm not an exercise in the morning person, just cant make myself do it. I am at the office at 7 am every morning though.

I am the exact opposite. If I don't roll out of the rack and straight to gym I will never get there.
