I was a little surprised that my search for "headlamp" came back with zero results. I'm looking for something light and easy to pack that has a good white and red functions. Seems like I have a few with one or the other but not both.

Quick search on Cabelas and the only two cheaper ones I looked at both had white and red lights. I am sure there is more than that.

Energizer has quite a few with white and red, some green too. Most of them around $20 or so. They come in various number of LEDs/lumens, can vary up the brightness or beam width. Academy or Amazon, should be easy to find. I've been pretty happy w them. Most run on AAA batteries.

I've got a Bushnell TRKR Headlamp. Its 150 lumens has red, regular and blood tracking modes. They are like $12 bucks and work very well.

Mine has a white spot with two brightness levels and white, green, and red flood.

Depends on budget. I did some research a little while
Back and was looking for something rechargeable via USB (so I could charge with solar panel) and I went with a black diamond revolt. With all of these head lamps, the lumens advertised will be immediately after putting fresh batteries in and then it will diminish quite a bit for the first hour or so, so just be ready for that. Factors to consider are weight, battery source, max lumens, multi-settings, red/green, size (packed or worn), whether a hat can be worn and other personal issues. Lots to think about if you want to get really nitty gritty, but if you are just looking for basic, then don't spend a ton of money and just go with the stuff you find in Walmart.

Consider the Petzl Tikka XP. There are cheaper units out there, but I have two Petzl headlamps and have been very satisfied with both.

Check out T-Mart. I buy all of my headlamps that I use in the oil field from them. If they have anything like you want that uses 18650 rechargable batteries,that's what I'd buy. They are super bright,and the battery life is excellent.

I use the Topwell headlamps ordered from Amazon. They have great white light and I got the ones with green lights as well. I believe they have one with the red option as well. I have been very pleased so far.

has a red light and a high/low. the high/low
beams are not as close in brightness as the
old headlamp. the red is pretty bright.
the headband seems as good or better than

I use it while jogging in the mornings. It's light weight, has a very comfortable headband and stays in place.
Not the cheapest light out there but it is one of the best that I have used.

Streamlight

I've had two Petzls and wouldn't hesitate to buy another. One fell out of my pocket while walking to the blind, and I ran over it before I knew it was missing. Hence, #2.

I like the clip on cap lights that pivot for angle. They are available in red and green light and easy to take off once you are in your stand.
