Do all the chemicals, solvents, oils, etc we use lose effectiveness over a long time?

As long as they're kept in the container, I think they'd be good for a lifetime or more.

I wouldn't necessarily trust old lubes and solvents. A lot of them are hygroscopic, and although their rust-inhibiting properties will probably keep any damage from occurring, the water absorbed might actually cause rust. I'd think this would be a greater problem with volatiles that wi evaporate quickly, but leave behind the water.

I hope not. I bought 3 bottles of hoppes copper remover for $1 each on clearance at Walmart. I'll never go through that much. But they retail for $9 each. Couldn't pass it up.
