I'm new to Texas duck hunting and was hoping for some advice. My duck hunting has always been larger lakes where we were able to put in semi perm blinds. Usually could put them on island shores with good cover around the blind to break up the silhouette of the blind. Now I'm hunting flooded fields and sloughs on a cut hay field with very short cover on the shore.

I was thinking about using layout blinds to stay low to the ground but prefer sitting up. Wondered if I should be concerned if I out out a small temp blind that sticks up above the water...assume it's well brushed. Don't think it would be an issue but it just seems like it is going to stick out like a sore thumb.

Any thoughts would be welcome....I'm not even asking where to hunt!!!

Cabelas makes a situp blind that works pretty good if your cover is as high as the blind, 24 to 36" high. If you have back problems or hard time sitting up they are ideal
