I'm heading out for one last public hunt tomorrow morning. It's warm enough I may not even use waders. The lake is warm enough to just wear some camo shorts and some muck boots. Hopefully they will be flying.

There is time, and you must take it, to lay your hand on your dog's head as you walk past him lying on the floor or on his settle, time to talk with him, to remember with him, time to please him, time you can't buy back once he's gone" GBE

Good luck. Hopefully it's better than last Sunday, I got 2 blue wing early after the storm. Pretty slow after that.

I tried a quick one this morning and was beat to the spot by 15 minutes or less. I ssaw no birds within range but the guys that took where I wanted to go first were shooting all morning. I didn't pull the trigger once. Pays to be the winner I guess.

Last weekend I was out at grapevine lake. I don't know if the storms this weekend will help or hurt the hunt. I will be out Sunday morning to find out.

My last hunt of the season was Thursday. Ruined by 2 Bass fisherman that decided to fish 10yrds in front of us. When asked to move told us to!@#$% off, they moved after 2 came over about 200 high and we ripped 3 rounds at the birds for fun. Until then we had hunted 7 times my take for this season 38 birds.

Hey i was out there too! They seemed pretty shy, like they had been shot out. You walk in or at the boat ramp?

I have a small boat so I just unload from the truck and trolling motor around. The teal is saw we're flying high and could careless about my decoys. I did have 5 mallards swim in at first light, never had that happen. I saw a lot flying around but that's it.
