Hey Fellas, i have bought my first bow a while back. I have a 31" draw and have it set at 65lb. What arrow length do i need to purchase? Any specific brands? Also, any reccomendations on broad heads?

Thanks ahead

A lot of personal preference with this one.

I like Montec G5 broadheads and I shoot Easton FMJ's

Sounds like you have gorilla arms. My draw is only 27 inches

Just go into an archery shop and get measured and then you will know what length arrows to get in the future.

Broadhead question is like asking about what your favorite football team is...they all win sometimes, but everyone has their favorites team for whatever reason.

Take your bow with you to the shop and they will cut them to fit your bow. Preference on broadheads varies. I like Grim Reaper mechanicals for deer for there huge cuts since deer are not very tough animals. I have been experimenting on hogs the last few years. I am shooting the NAP Hellrazor this year, which is similar to the G5 Montechs mentioned earlier. I shoot about twenty hogs a season and want a broadhead that I can recover without any damage and reuse.

Thanks guys and lol I took it to archery shop and they were rude and terrible customer service, so trying to learn on my own. They told me 31 " draw. I'm only 6'2".

Find you a different archery shop, rude is not excepted .
I am also 6'2" had a 32" draw until I quit commercial fishing, several years later dropped to a 31", then tor my rotor cuff and down to a 30". Forrest

I use slick tricks exclusively. They are literally scalpel sharp. I've used muzzy, rage, and some others. None are near as sharp as slick trick. STs are also a 4 blade. They fly like field points for me.

Lots of opines on which to use and really there is not a wright or wrong answer, we will all recommend what has worked for us. For the last 10 years I have been using G5 Montecs without complaint. Arrows I am setup for Victory Vaps but really like Easton Axis also.

For draw length wing span finger tip to finger tip measurement finger tip to finger tip divide by 2.5 will get you real close. I am 5'8" with a 29 inch draw. A lot there depends on your arm length, grip and anchor point. Find another bow shop, sounds like the one you went to didn't want to work with you. Not all shops or techs are created equal.

Get you some G5 Montecs (carbon steel). They can be easily resharpened after you blow it through bone or into the ground. They don't make a tougher broadhead IMHO
