This hunt was way too much fun! My son went on a dove hunt with me Saturday before last and although we didn't have many birds, we still had something to shoot at as several pigs ran up on us. I gave them a headache with 7.5 shot and they ran off. Well little did I know this would cause my boy the get the hog hunting bug! For a whole week he talked about shooting some pigs so I finally had a free evening and we made it to the farm that I get to hunt. We parked l, grabbbed our gear, and we started making our way towards the stand we were going to hunt out of. We didn't make it too far when I spotted some pigs. I told my son to get down and be real quiet. He became a statue. I grabbed my binos, loaded the .308, took the scope cover off and told lil man we would have to crawl the rest of the way. He did just as I said and we made it to the spot where I could lay prone and get the pigs in my sights. I told him to watch the spotted pig and to cover his ears. He again, did just as I said. I found ol spot and squeezed one off and down went that pig. They scattered and I was able to hit another as they ran. I jumped up and look at my son and that boy had the biggest grin. "Daddy, you got em! Let's go see them!" We made our way over there and to say my son was excited is an understatement. I dragged them over to take a few pics and Lil man and I high fived and talked about it the whole way home! He's asked several times already when we will be back.

My son is the same age he absolutely loves hunting as well. I've killed dove and deer with him with me but haven't got a hog yet with him there. Enjoy him while he is young they grow up too dang fast.
