Got a buddy that has a place out in Bastrop County and he keeps seeing this buck on camera.
I told him I thought he might be 4.5, but wanted to see what others thought.
What's your thoughts/guess on age? Pics are from mid August.

He's muscled up pretty good - has that racehorse look in the bottom picture. 3.5-4.5. I say mature, but on the younger side of mature would be my guess.

Middle-age, one pic he looks 4 the other 3. I would lean more to 4 if those pics are in August like you posted. In mid-October he will look more of his age I think.

Guess I would call him a 3 yo. Looks awfully lean for such great range conditions.

3.5 night photo looks like 4-4.5 but daytime puts me back at 3.0-3.5
looking good and lots of potential depends on neighbors and the area. Good luck to your buddy on his decision.

Ok now I say maybe 4 yr old. pic #1 above shows better brisket area.
The middle picture with the7/8 point helps as I think the 7/8 is a 3 yr old and the main frame 10 is 4.

I am still not waffling off of my 4 yr old guess on age. Another month from now will show a lot more.
