I was fortunate enough to receive a really memorable present from my father in law on my 28th birthday. He presented me with an original military issued Colt 1911 marked “United States Property". It is an heirloom which I will cherish for the rest of my life, and hope to pass on for generations. As if that were not enough, it was presented to me in a beautiful decorative high gloss wooden presentation case.
I reflected back on my gift and began to wonder if others might appreciate the same level of quality in a firearms case. I have procured a few of this style of case and am posting them for sale here. I am gauging interest among my fellow THF members to see if there is anyone else who might have a need for something like this.
I think if you plan to spend some money on a high-end custom or antique rifle, it should have a fitting place to sleep. Is it a little “booshy”? Maybe, but I have been referred to as a gun snob before and kind of enjoy the title.
What I believe they ain’t:
These are not for packing your Elk hunting rifle in and tossing into the bed of your pickup or throwing on a plane to Colorado to go on a hunting expedition. I can think of much better options for that (poly or heavy duty aluminum travel cases).
What I believe these are:
High quality presentation style firearms transport/display cases for mid level to high grade firearms. I believe they would be a really cool means of displaying fine firearms in a home or office, when they are not locked away in a safe. I believe that they will hold up well in the back seat of your SUV to a deer lease or gun range, and make a little more of a statement than a poly or aluminum case.
Of course firearms are not included.
