never eaten any, BUT if I was real hungry and was out in the middle of nowhere, I would..when I worked for Redonda Rocca cutting horse's, had stable hands that would eat the rats they caught.

Definitly not a first pick but so long as they weren't poisoned, and were gutted and skinned doubt I would have an issue with it if the circumstances called for it.

it would do in a pinch ... possum not bad, neither is coon. Not on my top 10, uh, top 50 list of things to try but I wouldn't starve.

I watched some villagers in Cameroon roast some rates over a fire and gobble them down. Not what I'd want to eat but they seemed to enjoy them.

Well, I suppose I wouldn't have a problem trying a cotton rat or a field mice. These live in the wild and do not enter human habitation. Black and Norway rats follow human-kind around the world and spread disease. Would I starve? Hem, would I die of thirst if all there was to drink was salt-water?
