What's your thoughts about the feeding and loafing habits of migrating ducks? Do ducks land on different parts of the lake right before LST then to feeding fields, or are your decoys fooling them into believing there's something to feed on there?

In the areas I hunt the decoys only bring them into the area close enough to shoot but if they aren't already coming into the general area they aren't going to come in for the most part. There are a few you might fool.
Over the last few years our large lake switched from a primarily feeding spot to a roost hole. I'm not sure why but usually late December it switches. We will go from watching tons of ducks come into feed to watching tons heading out. We may get a few to decoy but for the most part if they have their minds made up they are leaving to go feed it's a done deal.
We also have some large groups that may come in late morning and afternoon but those also seem to just want to raft up out in the middle.
So what I'm saying is I think ducks in the same area can use one particular body of water for all three....feeding, loafing and roosting

Thanks y'all, I was thinking that ducks that are roosting on the lake might get up and warm up before they head to wherever they feed, thus landing in the decoys prior to departure from the lake. Probably overthinking this alot! lol!
