If it were mind I'd get a Burris PEPR or a Warne riser, Warne being my first choice.

It would depend on the usage.
Installed and be done? DNZ Freedom cantilever mount 2" offset
On and of: LaRue and that is actually a good choice for both scenarios IMHO

You snob. Actually, your choices are solid, but that scope is heavy, The Warne and Burris mounts will set you back as much as the DNZ, but every time I have used a set, they left marks on the scope. That has never happened with the 2 I listed.

I was just kidding. Your recommendations are better quality.

Im OK with not having the best quality on these components since they are easily replaceable. This gun is for hunting in the field getting dirty scratched up and rained on. The PEPR and Warne look like good choices and they are in the ball park of what I want to spend. Thanks!
GO TRUMP!

The Razor is heavy, the Strike Force not so much. You might look at the vortex viper cantilever...

IMO risers for AR's is one area where different brands in the same price range are the same quality. My opinion is based on mounting optics at work for two years. Even though I don't care for the Nikon M-series they work. The reason I don't care for them is they are a bigger pain to install as others and don't look as sturdy. I said "look" because I've never had one come back. I'm a Warne fanboy but prefer the Burris in this instance. I like the six screw per ring set-up though I haven't had an experience that it's better than two or four screws. And of course as a rule we aren't talking about heavy recoiling rifles here. I also like the fact that with the PEPR you have a choice of smooth or picatinny ring upper. I have a mini red dot mounted on top of the scope on my AR and also on my son's AR. For some people the feature is a nonstarter. There is no question the LaRue and the other higher priced options are better quality than what I have, especially when "Return to Zero" is a requirement. It is not a requirement for my use though. The only time I'd remove the optic would be to use the iron sights due to optics failure.

I think you need to verify the height that you need before you are looking at what manufacturer/style of mount. Always try to have the scope/ring height based on the best cheek weld that you can get. Normally that is mounting the scope as low as possible in relation to the barrel. Try different height rings and then go from there.

The vast majority of people need the height that a standard riser provides. That is why they were invented. Rings are too low for most people to get a good cheek weld with, even highs on an AR.

Agree with you but all stocks and facial features are different. I use a PEPR on my AR 15 but on my AR 10 I use lowest rings possible from SWFA. It is just the design the stock I have on it and how it fits me personally.
