The water is down, and the Biologist said the hogs are all over the place. That I know for a fact. Pic of one boar!

bang bang bang another post done gone missing... rofl guess it wasnt worth 2cents ... Try again, OSBWMA tis bout a 4 1/2 star rating for hunting... Camp sites are primitive, its lower elevation keeps it swampy down in the hollows... Yet, with good scouting, can be awsome for hunting... Best wishes ta all on up coming hunts... As pappy once said: keep your head held high & your powder dry ... For $48.00 ya cant beat the price... flag

I have hunted out there and personally I wouldn't waste my gas money on the drive. IMO

rofl cheers its not for everyone, unlike private or leaseing land, public hunting is much tougher.. No baiting, have to walk, hike back inta the better areas, & if ya do get something down, the work begins... For hogs, have found back packing works best... 5, 727 acers tis alot of ground ta cover, the WMA was just down the road & have hunted it since it went public, many hours spent in stands during archery & the 3 months of wondering about the woods during the hog only hunts gave me am advantage over over most... As stated in other post, the WMA can get swampy... A little history, it used ta be a hunting lease, price was double, maybe tripple of what i payed for leases, & had a 3ta5 year waiting list ta get on it... & from what i've seen a 4 1/2 star rating for hunting... Just my 2cents as have said many times, i have cheap posts, thar be good hunting down thar, just gotta put the time an effort... flag

Colt.45, Yep not like a hunt where there are deer waiting for the feeder to go off.

If it's overrun with hogs like it used to be...may be worth a camp out again. Place used to be very good for hogs and deer. Not sure what happened the last few years.

Thanks for the kind words WF ... PB few years back while wondering about the woods came across buzzards purched in the trees & over the carcusses of dead hogs... The ones runnimg the WMA stressed they wanted hogs out... Bounty & when river gets up it floods the bottom pushing everything off... OSBWMA been my tagoto place for grillen & chillen hogs, confused2 been saying that since getting on texasHF WMA's can be hot spots with limited huntimg opertunities, no night hunts for hogs, the surrounding privet land like WF has 24-7-365 hunting pressure making WMA a safe haven plus lots of hardwoods, some parts tis like walking on marbles... It does stay wet down their, get off the atv trails, theirs areas that can 98% of time see hogs... tis back in texas for a short visit... Best wishes ta thows who venture on a do it yourself hunt... flag
