I got to demo one of these for the last couple of weeks, here is the basics on the Shotgun video. This is the best bang for the buck shotgun I have found out there right now.

And the first hunt video.

Okay I'll bite. Why is it a better bang for the buck than a Weatherby SA-08 that sells for the same price?

Don’t roll those bloodshot eyes at me.

First it's a Inertia drive vs gas, second it seems to be about $150 cheaper.

Don't understand your gas vs inertia quote. Are you saying inertia is inherently better quality than gas? Not true. Many people prefer gas over inertia. Neither is better and each has advantages and disadvantages.

As for price I looked up both shotguns on Grabagun and Cabela's, the synthetic stock models. On Grabagun the SA-08 was $20.00 more than the Savage. At Cabela's the Savage is $10.00 more than the SA-08. So price is a wash.

Great video! I enjoyed watching. Looks like a nice shotgun. My son and I have both been looking at a new scatter gun for a while. The Savage get a closer look from both of us.

Inertia is inherently more reliable, thinner, lighter, all good things. Grabagun shows the SA-08 for $599, the S120 is availible at Buds for $455. So $145 difference not much but I would say this is the best bang for the buck hunting shotgun out right now.

https://grabagun.com/wby-sa-08-syn-semi-12m-28mc-b.html

The above link shows the SA-08 for $470.03 on Grabagun if comparing apples to apples. The SA-08 you mentioned is wood stocked, not synthetic like the Stevens. Comparing both in synthetic stocks it's very close in price. Why quote the wood stock as opposed to the synthetic unless you are trying to prove a point that isn't true.

Savage lists the S1200 at 6.9 pounds, Weatherby lists the SA-08 at 6.5 pounds. Inertia guns may be inherently more reliable but as a rule they don't cycle light loads as well as gas guns and it is also well documented that gas guns have less recoil. The SA-08 is pretty slim, slimmer in fact than the two inertia guns I currently own(Franchi). I have two inertia shotguns, they are great.

Gas and inertia guns each have there pluses and minuses. Saying the S1200 is the best bang for the buck going is a pretty ambitious statement.

Im glad you are a SA-08 fanboy dont buy the S1200. The S1200 I had came in at 6.6 pounds on my certified scale, it cycled everything I put through it including very light cheap loads from wally world. In my opinion the S1200 is the best bang for the buck hunting shotgun I've seen. Just got my Walnut stock S1200 its a thing of beauty at a great price, buy 100 of them buy zero of them does not effect me either way just sharing info.

" Why quote the wood stock as opposed to the synthetic unless you are trying to prove a point that isn't true." Not exactly sure if you are trying to be a dick, but you are doing a good job of it. I just typed in SA-08 at grabagun and gave the price it showed me. The $470 you found is a great price I'd still take the S1200 over it.

He's not being a dick, he is just pointing out that you are making claims based on a poor comparison. The two guns are basically the same price when you compare apples to apples, and you twice claimed that the SA-08 was more expensive.

He's also right about gas vs. inertia guns. They both have pluses and minuses.

If you would stop making claims you can't support, maybe he wouldn't argue with you.

You typed in SA-08 but didn't look to see what model it was? Hmm. I like the SA-08 but am not a fanboy. I'm a fanboy of my FABARM L4s. I also don't dislike the Savage, I think you are making claims you haven't backed up. If you would have stated it was the best bang for the buck for you personally I wouldn't have said a word. I also could have posted my observations on your new thread but didn't. You are digging yourself a deeper hole.

I've shot gas guns my whole life I know the difference I prefer the inertia for the reasons listed.

On the price point I stand corrected, on the best bang for the buck I still think you get more for your money with the S1200.

Deeper hole? Because I think one is better than the other? I think it's the best bang for the buck personally and for most people my opinion, obviously yours is different.

The S1200 is the best bang for the buck Inertia shotgun out there right now. The SA-08 is a very nice shotgun as well worth every penny I just "personally" think you get more for your money with the S1200. Either way you will have a nice shotgun for a great price. Now can we just all get along! Thanks have a nice day smile
