We need one. Fulvous and Black Bellies are all over the place now, and gone (mostly) by November. They are easily recognizable. Wonder how we could get an early season for them? Agree or disagree?

most people will agree, and yes it would make sense to an extent. Don't know and haven't heard what the latest population guesstimate is. Is there actually a huntable population? just because you see a hundred here or somebody says "we have'em all over our place" doesn't really mean that there is a huntable population. And if there is, getting the state and or federal govt to do it is an entirely different topic.

Their migration patterns are just as predictable as teal.

We have them nearly year round in our subdivision in Brookshire. Hundreds. Seem to be more and more each year too.

We were just talking about this yesterday evening while we watched a couple thousand of them mill around in some marsh down here. A lot of times we see more squealers than teal while teal hunting. Of course they do stick around here longer than most places in the state so we shoot quite a few during regular season anyway.

My Hunting buddy and I were saying the same thing. We had many groups of 15+ flying over and some into our spread but by the time the season opens they'll be in Mexico.

Louisiana has been banding them for a few years. A good first step towards getting an early season for them

Had a group of 25 today fly near blind. Wouldn't make a big difference on numbers. They decoy worst than woodies. Basically none at all. Pass shooting. We may see them 1-2 week of regular duck
