Nice setup. Who rebarreled it for you?

Buddy and I did the barrel swap with ar wrench and go-no go gauge. I just ordered what I wanted.

I haven't taken any game with the 6 yet. Planning on it shortly though

Does the RPR take 308AR barrels or are they custom for the gun?

bought one last week of July, my favorite gun dealer had one he saved for me. Got it in .308, bore sighted it with a Leupold VX6 6.5 x 20 x 40. fired a few different grain ammo thru it, had quite a bit of recoil which I was surprised. Ordered a muzzle brake from Ruger, recoil is now nil. Fixin to mount a bipod soon, I have 3 pastures full of hogs, some shots can be over 600 yards in the hayfields...I plan on finding the right grain bullet to use, I hear heavier bullets don't perform well, I don't reload so looking at one of the 150-168 grain Hornady type. any input on ammo will be appreciated.

They r custom cut barrels.

I also had a 308 at first. Shot steel at 420 easy all day with it.

Hornady Match 168 BTHP is only what I shot with mine. It was a 1/2in gun all day

Im wondering what the best round for an animal like feral hogs will be. Need something to penetrate and expand and performs well at about 400 yards.

I had one in 6.5 CM for a bit when they first came out, not a bad stick for the money. Best I got out of the factory barrel was .68moa on a 5 round group, they definitely need to be rebarreled if you are to get the most out of them. The problem is by the time you do all of the upgrades to make it shoot like one would expect a LR rig to run you are well into the $2K+ range and at that point I'd be looking at lightly used custom sticks and higher end factory rifles from the like of DTA, AI, Surgeon, GAP, etc.

TexasPatriot a 308 would b perfect.

Grandpa Lee I just went through that same phase. Even the good used guns where still 3k plus. I have exactly 1900 in mine and will out shoot most with custom high dollar guns

This hasn't been the case for me at all. I've got a first gen in 6.5 Creedmoor that hasn't been touched outside of replacing the bolt shroud (for no other reason than it was plastic), and mounting a scope. I've got around $2k in this rifle, including optics (Burris XTR II 5-25), and it is stupid accurate.

I got to shoot my buddies suppressed 6.5 last week and it is crazy accurate. we only took it out to 360 yards but it was a blast hearing that steel sing.

I have the RPR 6.5 and I'm shooting the 143gr Hornady. So far it's doing great. I have some 129gr Hornady also and it seems to like it also

Lol sticks. I've used that word to describe pool cues and golf clubs, never a rifle. Sounds like the newest "tacticool" phrase.

Bruh, checkout this awesome new stick I got bruh. It's bruh-tastic...
