Wanted to share my experience with the new camera, one I got is the GC-VCTb...
I just got a HCO Spartan GoCam about 3 weeks ago. I got the Verizon version that is added to your data plan for $5 a month and shares your data. It has used 22mb worth of data so far.
Here's a link with all the cellular models, so I don't have to clog the post up with info...
http://www.hcooutdoors.com/products/spartan-gocam.htmlHas an app that allows you to pay extra for a premium service, which I believe is another $3-$4 a month (comes with the first 30 days free so I haven't crossed that road yet). The app allows you to setup to everything you would do manually on the camera and push the data to the camera.
I set it up to watch a slough down in the river bottom, where I know the hogs are. Tossed out a couple of bags of corn.
Here are a couple pictures its taken lately.
From the review standpoint. Seems to take better pictures than the Covert Code Black I got back in May. The IR light seems to reach out further for the night pictures and have better picture. So far the batteries are lasting better than the Covert. I have only had it out 3 weeks but the batteries still show full. By this time I had to make a external battery pack for the Covert to keep it running.
The Covert is $34.99 for three month or $11.66 a month. This includes the app, which is the only way you can view the pictures. And is nice as long as you have good cell service so you can view the pictures.
Compare that to the Spartan.
$5 a month added to my Verizon bill a month. The app is a little more if I decide to keep it, but not required. Otherwise I am getting the pictures texted to me and are about 56KB. So in areas with shakey service instead of getting an alert that I have a photo, I get the actually photo. Also lets you setup a custom ringtone to differentiate from actual txt. The ones I attached here are straight from the txt I got, not from the memory card.
Haven't run across a con on this one yet.
I'm sure there is something I missed. Ask away and I will do my best to answer.
